I started recently, not with a blank slate but a burning desire. The creative flames within me have always flickered, but I kept them hidden, buried beneath the obligations of academics. Jewelry, furniture, home decor, preservation, mixed media – these were my passions waiting to be unleashed. But, the journey to finding my true calling was far from a straight path.Back in my 10th standard, a youthful declaration to my mother that I wanted to be a fashion designer was met with skepticism. Fashion design, they said, was for those who struggled academically. I put my passion aside, respecting my parents' wishes, and completed my education. Yet, despite the degrees, I found myself yearning for something more.Art galleries became my refuge, where I would search for that elusive sense of fulfillment. One day, I discovered a mesmerizing resin art piece. Its glossy finish left me in awe. I began researching this new medium, and it was as if my dream was reborn.... The glossy allure of resin, the freedom to create and innovate, drew me in. My parents, once unsure, began to understand my dream, my passion, and supported my new journey.My artistic journey wasn't without early signs. In 8th grade, my drawing teacher accused me of tracing my work, which I vehemently denied. When she saw my originality, she applauded my honesty in front of the entire class.In 2014, as I prepared for an art competition, a personal crisis struck. My father suffered a brain clot on the eve of the contest. The next day, I sat for my math exam with a blank mind, plagued by fear. My art exam followed, and though the topic was simple – depicting nature – my emotional turmoil left me incapable of understanding what to paint. It was a moment of despair, feeling useless and overwhelmed.However, art has a way of healing. In times of difficulty, my favorite food brought solace. And it was this unwavering connection to my passion that pulled me out of those dark moments.I chose to be a resin artist because I believe that drawing skills aren't a prerequisite for this creative path. Resin may take up space, but I've learned to organize my materials, keeping only what I need for my ongoing projects close at hand.To be an artist is to believe in life, and this belief has fueled my journey. I've learned the importance of choosing pigments wisely, working with resin cautiously to avoid exothermic reactions, and always protecting myself with gloves and tied-back hair.The world of resin jewelry is a small market, and my aim is to explore and expand it. I dream of establishing my own studio and conducting workshops, sharing my passion with others. While I've just started my resin work, the wooden platters I've created have already won the hearts of many.Terrazzo tables and agates hold a special place in my heart, and they're a testament to my unyielding creativity. Though I'm yet to receive orders as a beginner, I anticipate around 20 in the coming months.The journey motivates me immensely. Through this platform, I'm living my dream, transforming from a scholar into an artist. In just two months, I've faced challenges, like my resin becoming exothermic during my first class, leaving me restless. Polishing a river table alongside Sharad Sir in a theoretical session has been another memorable experience.This journey has been a rollercoaster of emotions, but I'm embracing every moment, fueled by the love and appreciation of my audience. My resin dreams are slowly but surely taking shape, and I'm determined to soar as a resin artist.
