Resin Art: Crafting Dreams and Memories

Recently, I embarked on a creative journey that has already set up shop in my heart and home. The world of resin art has captivated me, offering a canvas for unique textures, a preserve for cherished memories, and a therapeutic escape from the stresses of life.My journey into resin art began unexpectedly, as my husband and I contemplated starting a business. While scouring websites and scrolling through YouTube, we stumbled upon a video showcasing the mesmerizing world of resin art. Its beauty and endless possibilities left an indelible mark on us, and we decided to dive headfirst into this artistic realm.Resin art, I discovered, allowed me to express myself in ways I had never imagined. It was reminiscent of my childhood days when I participated in a community center competition, crafting a fort that won me first prize. Those early creative sparks had never truly faded....Though I have not yet faced a creative block, doubts occasionally crept in when family and relatives questioned the feasibility of selling resin art. They cited cost concerns, but these doubts only fueled my determination. To overcome these moments of uncertainty, I turned to music and reels related to resin art. The support of my husband, both emotionally and financially, was my pillar of strength. Even though his father initially disapproved of our business venture, witnessing the beauty of resin art changed his perspective. While I have always been good at drawing, I firmly believe that drawing skills are not a prerequisite for resin art. What truly matters is a deep understanding of color contrasting, which is essential for creating captivating pieces.Resin art does demand space, but I've managed by organizing my raw materials and finished products in various nooks and corners of our home, from cupboards and corners of rooms to under sofas and showcases.Henri Matisse's quote, "Creativity takes courage," resonates deeply with me. It takes courage to express one's passions, to step beyond the comfort zone, and to conquer irrational fears. Before diving into a new resin art project, I follow a simple mantra: decide what you want to create, choose the colors, decide on any additional elements like creatures or glitters, and gather all necessary materials. Safety is paramount. My plans for the future include participating in exhibitions to raise awareness about my brand. I aspire for my brand to become well-known and to receive a steady stream of orders, allowing me to turn a profit.Though my business is in its infancy, the beach/ocean pour I created has been cherished and loved by my relatives and family. The love and appreciation I've received so far fuel my determination to not only earn praise but also monetary rewards. While I've learned various resin art techniques, the dirty pour technique is my favorite. It consistently produces unexpected and beautiful patterns.Although I'm a beginner, I have grand aspirations for the future. I look forward to taking part in offline exhibitions, with the next one scheduled for August 19, 2023. Each day is a new opportunity to learn and grow.My journey hasn't been without challenges. I faced a moment of demotivation when resin flowed unevenly while creating a Geode table, wasting precious materials. However, I didn't give up; I persevered and achieved the desired result on the second attempt.Among all my resin creations, the "Blue Lagoon" table class holds a special place in my heart. Crafting it within just two days, it proved to be the easiest yet most satisfying piece I've made.As I continue my journey in the world of resin art, I'm excited about what lies ahead. The path may be filled with twists and turns, but with each pour, I'm shaping my dreams, crafting memories, and discovering the beauty of courage and creativity.
