Finding My Resin Oasis: A Journey of Passion and Determination

I started my artistic journey recently, with a burning desire to create beautiful furniture and home decor pieces while preserving the essence of each piece. My goals were clear: gain a strong presence on social media, attract more clients for customizations, and embark on a freelancing journey. As I delved into the world of artistry, I found myself immersed in the therapeutic world of resin.Resin, for me, was not just an artistic medium; it was therapeutic. When I opened a bottle of resin and saw its colors, it was like a burst of inspiration, much like the invigorating aroma of coffee. Working with resin brought me immense satisfaction and a financial boost. It was a kick that lifted me up.My artistic journey began when I was in the 8th grade. I had to create a sketch to depict the plight of farmers facing water scarcity. I was eager to participate but unsure of how to bring my vision to life.... Luckily, a neighbor, who was skilled in art, lent me a helping hand. With his guidance, I completed my project and proudly won first place in the competition. That victory marked the moment I truly recognized my artistic potential. However, even the most passionate artists face creative blocks. For the past eight to nine months, I've been battling health issues that clouded my thoughts. I struggled to come up with new ideas, especially since I also work in the wedding gifts industry and handle the responsibilities of a homemaker. To overcome these challenges, I turned to meditation and spent precious moments playing with my two-year-old child. As a homemaker and mother, finding time for my passion was tough, especially when my family wasn't entirely supportive, primarily driven by financial concerns. Nevertheless, I remained determined to pursue my passion, no matter the obstacles.I firmly believe that being an artist isn't just about creating beautiful drawings or paintings; it's a matter of the heart. My creative space is a modest one, a corner of my kitchen where I can always see my art supplies. This little nook is where my daily inspiration ignites. I also have a wooden cutout cupboard under my bed that holds more of my creative treasures.I live by the motto that everything is possible, and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to achieve my dreams. For aspiring resin artists, I have a valuable piece of advice: learn about resin pigments first. Initially, I struggled with the variety of pigments available, from pearls to opaques. Understanding their qualities is essential. My goal is to showcase the true beauty of resin and pigments, moving beyond the viral trends of molded or enhanced resin pieces. I want to demonstrate that resin and pigments have an intrinsic beauty that not everyone can recognize. In the future, I aspire to have my own studio and create stunning pieces like my Resin Ginni Platter (coaster). I'm particularly excited about preserving varmalas using a new technique.Though I've taken a few classes, I've found that while they help with techniques, they fall short in providing a platform for artists to sell their products. Nevertheless, I persevere in my journey. In just four months, I've seen remarkable progress. My first practical session was a mess, but I didn't let that deter me. I pushed forward and created an incredible "CYCLON" clock. Throughout my journey, I've been inspired by artists like Sharad Dabra and his "Blue Lagoon" table. His sessions have been enlightening, as he freely shares his knowledge without holding back.As I continue to pursue my passion for resin artistry, I know that my journey is just beginning. With determination and a heart full of creativity, I'm ready to face any challenge that comes my way.
