Unveiling Resin: My Journey of Self-Discovery and Artistic Expression

I recently embarked on a new chapter in my life as a resin artist. Setting up my shop and online presence was a thrilling start to my artistic journey. With a passion for furniture, home decor, and wall art, my goal was clear: create awareness about my brand, gain social media followers, and connect with clients who desired customized pieces of art. This endeavor also marked my initial steps into freelancing, accepting custom requests from art enthusiasts. My inspiration blossomed unexpectedly, ignited by my son's artistic journey. His youthful fascination with colors and art awakened a dormant spark within me. His strokes were pure expressions of joy and curiosity, reminding me that true art flows from the heart. Guided by his unpretentious wisdom, I found myself painting with newfound purpose and emotion.Choosing resin as my medium was a deliberate decision.... Its versatility and unique beauty captivated me—how it played with light, mimicked water or glass, and offered endless textural possibilities. Resin transformed ordinary objects into magnificent works of art, adding elegance and a modern twist. It constantly challenged and inspired me to push my artistic boundaries, sharing these one-of-a-kind pieces with fellow art enthusiasts. My artistic journey had early roots when, as a 9-year-old, I created a portrait of Lord Krishna for Janmashtami. It turned out beautifully, and the appreciation it received from my relatives remains etched in my memory as a significant achievement. However, life took me on a different path as an army officer's wife. Balancing family, work, and home became a labyrinth, and my creative spark dimmed.Creative blocks and self-doubt cast shadows on my aspirations, leaving me disconnected from myself. In these moments of struggle, my son and husband became my unwavering pillars of support, offering encouragement and belief in my abilities. Their presence illuminated my path and reinvigorated my efforts.Nature and my surroundings proved to be my greatest healers. I connected with nature to reenergize myself, believing that God provided remedies for every problem on Earth. Even though the challenges of being an army officer's wife made it difficult to find time for my art, I persevered, working late into the night to overcome creative blocks.I discovered that the myth that every resin artist must excel in drawing and painting was unfounded. Resin art welcomed artists from all backgrounds. While drawing and painting skills enhanced creativity, resin allowed for innovation through color manipulation and experimentation. The ability to envision and compose unique designs was the essence of resin art.The belief that a resin artist needed a large workspace was exaggerated. Proper organization and creativity could make even a corner in the living room sufficient. I stacked supplies in old cupboards, using my son's bed drawers and a study table. This makeshift workspace allowed me to continue creating.Steve Jobs' words, "The only way to do great work is to love what you do," motivated me to pour my heart and soul into my art. Embracing the journey of self-expression through resin art, I began with curiosity, patience, and a free flow of creativity, knowing that every masterpiece started with a single drop of resin. To stand out as a resin artist, I aimed to merge traditional techniques with modern aesthetics, creating unique pieces that told stories. I also sought to empower Veer-naaris and army widows, helping them generate a steady income source. This venture was not just financially satisfying but also a personal milestone. My plans for the future included expanding my reach through social media, online and offline selling, and creating innovative products. My recent focus had been on crafting coffee tables and breakfast tables with river table designs, a new and exciting venture. My resin art journey had its ups and downs, teaching me to work harder. One demotivating moment was when, in exuberance, I touched the resin before it settled, ruining five days of hard work. However, I salvaged it and kept it as a trophy in my drawing room. My proudest moment was selling my first artwork and receiving praises from fellow artists. In the world of resin art, I found not only a medium of self-expression but also a path to self-discovery. With resilience, passion, and unwavering support from my loved ones, I embraced the challenges and beauty of my artistic journey.
