In the last five years, I have embarked on an artistic adventure, creating a world of furniture, home decor, wall decor, and abstract pieces. I've set up my shop, Instagram page, and online store, all while nurturing a desire to spread awareness about my brand, gain more social media followers, and attract clients seeking customization. My love for aesthetics and visual elements has always been my guiding light, with my mother's simple creativity and passion for design serving as a lifelong inspiration. These artistic genes passed down to me have ignited a craving and passion for art within me, and I aspire to dedicate all of my work to her.The therapeutic process of working with resin has provided me with a sense of calmness and relaxation. Resin art has gained popularity for its commercial potential, offering numerous opportunities for resin artists. However, my journey into resin art was not solely motivated by this.... One day, as I was scrolling through Instagram, I stumbled upon an introductory online resin session by Sharad Dawda of SD Academia. His teaching style, patience in addressing artists' doubts, and transparency left a profound impact on me. It was phenomenal and impressive. This experience fueled my desire to join SD Academia and pursue resin art exclusively.Participating in my second exhibition, 'GLIMPSE,' in Pune City in 2020 was a turning point. I showcased a collection of resin clocks in various shapes and colors. A sophisticated lady from London visited my art space and purchased two resin clocks and a set of pizza coasters. Her appreciation and the knowledge that my art would adorn a London home became a cherished achievement.Yet, there were moments of creative blockage during the pandemic, lasting two long years. Material shortages and the inability to make online purchases left me feeling helpless and guilty. I found solace in music, funny reels on Instagram, and stand-up comedy to change my perspective.Challenges arose as I began accepting orders in 2021. Dealing with resin accumulation on a large canvas tested my skills, but I successfully overcame the obstacle, even if it meant working until 3 am. Another challenge came from my in-laws, who questioned my dedication to art. I calmly demonstrated my commitment, ultimately winning their support.I believe that a passion for art, knowledge of color combinations, and patience are essential for working with resin. Not everyone can handle resin work effortlessly, as it requires space, proper ventilation, and meticulous storage. I've adapted my workspace to accommodate these requirements, creating a well-ventilated small studio within my home.As Bob Ross famously said, "We don't make mistakes, just happy little accidents." I aim to develop my unique style, incorporating mixed media and innovative designs with unusual color combinations and embedded items within resin artwork. In the coming year, I intend to establish my brand and conduct workshops.While I haven't generated substantial revenue from my resin art yet, the past month has been productive. I received three orders, including coasters and an 18" wall clock. Additionally, my involvement in five offline exhibitions has broadened my horizons.SD Academia has played a pivotal role in my resin art journey, providing comprehensive knowledge and guidance. From the basics of mixing and pouring resin to advanced techniques, their support has expanded my skill set. It's an all-in-one solution, offering photography of artwork, packaging, marketing solutions, branding, and website design.Since joining the academy two months ago, I haven't felt demotivated. As a working woman with limited time for art, I continue to immerse myself in the world of resin art, drawing daily motivation from the academy's guidance and demonstrations.Attending all the academy's classes has been an unforgettable experience, thanks to mentors who are not only highly knowledgeable but also incredibly supportive. Sharad Sir and Priya Ma'am's humility and encouragement have made this journey all the more enriching. I express my heartfelt gratitude for their extensive guidance and support and look forward to continuing to learn and grow under their tutelage in the future.
